Schools

Schools’ upgrading is the core of urban development. In poor, urban areas of Egypt, many children are at a disadvantage when it comes to quality education. With crammed classrooms, poor facilities and insufficient investment, public school students suffer the worst. According to UNESCO, 31 percent of Egyptians are under the age of 15; around 90 percent of which are enrolled in primary and preparatory schools. However, due to the huge increases in the population annually and the fact that the education is free and mandatory in primary and preparatory schools, the quality of education has significantly decreased.
