Community Services

Because Takatof Association thinks of the welfare of the whole community and not just younger generations, it started a series of community service projects not only for students but for their families and the community at large. These include medical outreaches and community assistance services, giving people in poor and underdeveloped areas the chance to benefit from what is basically needed for good living.

Believing in the important role the developed schools can play in servicing residents, teachers, students and their parents, Takatof introduced various medical outreaches: eye care outreaches in collaboration with Magrabi Foundation and general health care outreaches in collaboration with El Qasr El Aini hospital.

The Association has carried out 38 eye outreaches in the developed schools from 2009 to 2016. The number of beneficiaries so far has reached (8209) students and (2828) parents and local community residents with a total of (11037) beneficiaries.

Maghrabi Foundation conducts vision tests to the students and provides eye glasses for those who need them.

As for the community beneficiaries, Maghrabi Foundation conducts vision tests, the tests also detect cataract. Those who are found to have a clouding of the eye lens are then referred to Magrabi hospitals and operated on. The outreaches also provide different kinds of eye medications.

As for the general health care, Takatof conducted four outreaches. Those provided medical consultations in the fields of general medicine, orthopedic surgery, dermatology and urology, pediatrics, hepathology, otolaryngology, neurology and oncology. The outreaches also tested for Hepatitis B virus.

The Association conducted (2) general health care outreaches in Agouza area serving (1022) beneficiaries from the local community,
(1) in Ezbet Haridi area serving (707) beneficiaries and (1) in the Manial area serving (333) beneficiaries with a total of (2062) local community residents.

Based on needs assessment and evaluation, Takatof offers help to patients, who cannot get adequate healthcare. The Association provides medication for them after studying the cases and deciding they are in real need.
